 What are the requirements?

Normally, lecturers should have at least a Master's degree and must have the backing of their church council or session. They must hold unquestioningly to the historic doctrines of the Reformed faith as contained in the confessions of faith such as the Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger and Shorter Catechism, Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dort, and The Belgic Confession. Lecturers are asked to provide three references. Click here for reference form.

 What is the cost?

Costs range from $1,000 to $3,000, depending on the country, time of year and length of stay. This cost estimate covers round trip transport airfare, visas (where required), in country and local transportation and all meals and lodging. Instructors are responsible to secure and possess a valid passport from their country of citizenship. Personal spending money is up to the instructor. Lecturers are asked to invite their home churches, friends and others to support the cost of their ministry overseas.

Through the gracious gift of some friends of ITEM, ITEM is now able to help instructors get to the field their first time by covering up to $1,500 toward the travel costs. All ITEM requests is that the instructor, if a pastor, request that his church begin supporting ITEM regularly by adding ITEM to its annual budget as soon as possible.
